Work starts on Homestead renovations
This month work has started on restoring the original Homestead, with the reroofing and replacement of windows and doors. This beautiful weatherboard Indian Bungalow style Homestead of Westport was built by Vereker Thomas Sidney Ferrier Hamilton and his wife Nina in 1908, to enjoy with their daughter Grizel. Our vision is to retain and enhance the Homestead with modern additions of entertainment, health and wellness facilities.
When completed, the Homestead will feature the restored library and drawing rooms, a private function area and a games area. The second stage of the upgrade will see the addition of indoor heated pool and spa, a modern gym, visiting practitioners rooms, a large kitchen, bar and dining area. Outside there will be an alfresco gazebo and BBQ area overlooking the bowling green.
Autumn changes to winter in the ranges.
The end of autumn has arrived and as winter begins, we are ready to rug up for the crisp days in the Macedon Ranges. With beautiful gardens and walking trails, tree-lined streets and heritage buildings of the area, Westport Estate is nestled in the heart of this vibrant community.
It is a great time of the year to explore the villages of the ranges. Take the opportunity to visit the Kyneton Farmers Markets on Saturday 11 June, between 8am and 1pm in historic Piper Street, Kyneton.
Open Days and Stage 2 Launch
Our Open Days during the Macedon Autumn Festival were hugely successful. We had a lot of visitors to site, with many registering their interest for us to hold a home in their name. Stage 1 is nearly sold out and Stage 2 already has several names against sites.
